Ingredients:
Sesame Seeds (til) - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Dry red chillies - 7-10 nos
Curry Leaves - 2 strand
Chana Dal (Kadalai paruppu) - 1/4 Cup
Urad Dal (ulunthu) - 1/2 Cup
Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1tsp -
Method of Cooking:
Heat a Heavy bottomed kadai in medium flame
Add Sesame Seeds (til) - 1 tsp
Dry roast till they turn slight golden brown
Don't burn, Keep aside.
Add Oil - 2 tsp
Dry red chillies - 7-10 nos
Curry Leaves - 2 strand
Roast it for 2 minutes, Keep aside.
In the same kadai
Add Chana Dal (Kadalai paruppu) - 1/4 Cup
Urad Dal (ulunthu) - 1/2 Cup
Saute well, until they turn golden brown
Don't burn.
Add Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1tsp
Give a stir.
Turns aromatic
Turn off the flame, keep aside.
Allow to cool completely.
Transfer to a blender.
Grind to a slight coarse powder
(Make sure you don't add water)
Our Spicy Idli Podi is ready to serve !!!
Transfer the Idli Milagai Podi into an airtight container you can store for about 1 month.
