Servings: 20 pc

  1. Ingredients:

    Rice flour - 1cup (200g)
    Moong dal flour (Pasi Paruppu) - 1/4 cup (50g)
    Butter softened - 2 tbsp
    Oil - For frying
    White Sesame (til) - 2 tsp
    Hing (asafoetida) - 1/8 tsp
    Salt - 1/2 tsp or (as required)
    Water - 1/2 cup or (as required)

  2. Method of Cooking:

    Step 1:
    In a large mixing bowl add Moong dal flour (Pasi Paruppu) - 1/4 cup (50g)
    Add Rice flour - 1cup (200g)
    Add White Sesame (til) - 2 tsp
    Add Hing (asafoetida) - 1/8 tsp
    Add Salt - 1/2 tsp or as required
    Add softened Butter - 2 tbsp
    Crumble and mix until the spices are combined well.
    Now gradually add 1/2 cup water in
    2-3 batches.
    Add 2-3tbsp water or (as required)
    (Don't add too much water)
    Knead into a smooth and soft dough.
    (Don't put pressure)

    Step2:

    Now let's start preparing murukku
    Greace the butter paper with butter or oil
    First let's fix star mould to the murukku maker.
    (You can use mould as u wish)
    Grease the murukku maker with some oil or (butter), to avoid dough sticking to mould.
    Take enough amount of the murukku dough, and place inside the murukku maker.
    In medium flame Heat oil in a Kadai.
    You can make murruku on the butter paper or (banana leaf).
    You can make small or big spiral shape murukku, seal the ends.
    Fry the murukku on medium hot oil, flipping sides until the bubbles subside.
    Once it changes to light golden brown, drain over a paper towel to remove excess oil.
    (Don't burn)
    Cool and store in an airtight container.
    Enjoy Healthy and Crunchy murukku, with hot Coffee or Tea!!!
