Ingredients:
Masoor dal - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1tsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Dried Red chilli - 5
Roasted split gram - 1/2 cup
Ghee (oil) - 1tsp
Garlic - 4 cloves (roughly chopped)
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Hing (asafoetida) - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp -
Method of Cooking:
Heat a kadai on medium flame
Add Masoor dal - 1/2 cup
Dry roast until the dal turns aromatic
Turns aromatic
Don't burn
Keep aside.
Add Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1tsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Dried Red chilli - 5
Dry roast on medium flame
Turns aromatic
Add Roasted split gram - 1/2 cup
Roast for 1 minute
Turns aromatic
Keep aside.
Add Ghee (oil) - 1tsp
Garlic - 4 cloves (roughly chopped)
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Saute well
Add Hing (asafoetida) - 1/4 tsp
Roast until the curry leaves turn crispy and garlic turns golden brown
Turns aromatic, Don't burn
Keep aside
Allow to cool completely.
Salt - 1 tsp
Transfer the mixture to a blender.
Grind to a fine powder
(Make sure you don't add water)
